Working in a sketchbook used to terrify me…
Other people’s sketchbooks are always fascinating, like an insight into their secret world. This set me up to think that mine had to be beautiful objects in themselves. If ever there was a plan to halt creative flow in its tracks, this was it!
Over the years I have learned different ways to use sketchbooks to my own advantage; to contain and develop all my ideas. Some pages are beautiful, some are dull, some I tear out or paint over.
