One of a series of three, these were originally complex landscapes. Too complex; busy and confused. One day in the studio I knew something decisive was called for and they were each covered 70% with a strong different colour. Not sky, so much as clear space. Skies can be incredible colours, but not lime green! But suddenly I loved them. No.3 sold before I had time to photograph it, so these two remain and would be ideal as a pair.
And the title? It’s a literary phrase where the integrity of the storyteller has been compromised, or like a child, you can’t quite trust their viewpoint is accurate. But who wants accurate?
