ORIGINAL PAINTING ON RAW CANVAS

acrylic, with charcoal
Size 120 x 120 x 4 cm

hand stretched raw canvas on gallery quality bars

Working on partially raw canvas means there’s little allowance for adjustments or hesitancy… at this scale it requires a physical commitment that feels an evident presence in the finished painting; bold but also gentle with soft variations of warm greys laid in gently veiled layers.  Variations in the pigment show in wet blends, dry tools and sweeps of colour settled into the canvas. This would be a show-stopper in any contemporary living space.
