The light simplicity is deceptive… I wanted to retain the initial movement of paint, and keep that immediacy. The result is a painting with a feeling of spaciousness where you can see layers of gently built colour. Working horizontally for gentle blends from the deep inky blues, a sparkle behind the turquoise, up to the veils of dusky pinks and greys in the top.
