Now is the time to take a look if you’d love a painting to give (or for yourself!) for Christmas so I can ship it this week as I’m travelling from Friday. You can even now pay in instalments on the website and gift certificates are available too... take a look. X

New paintings and gift certificates are now up on my website.

Art is a beautiful and lasting gift, but it can be hard to choose for someone else. The idea of these is that you have a beautiful handmade object you can give and unwrap on the day and then choose in your own time. You can put some money down up front if you wish OR simply have the card, which I will make and send to you.

BUT I am away at the end of this week so if this sounds a nice idea do go and take a look. There are digital options available too.

Oh, and paintings are now available with a deposit only today and the option to pay the balance in instalments. (testing!) Have done this before in real life and it works well, takes a degree of trust online... x

Brushes used this week 😃 good thing I just ordered more from @jacksons_art who have a good deal on today... not just brushes but all sorts of things over the weekend... but that doesn’t count as Black Friday spending because it’s pure necessity! 😁

Happy Thanksgiving - I’ve never experienced this as a celebration but it sounds like fun and less pressure than Christmas... am I wrong?

I will be sending details of 6 new paintings to subscribers soon, so that if anyone wants to choose something they will cherish, there is time to ship them before I go away next week!

For what feels like a while I’ve been kind of fumbling... looking for something new but it not really making sense. I knew I wanted to work with softer colours, play with transitions and larger spaces where the paint has more freedom. And then elements of boundary and constraint. I need to take my own advice and do some writing in one place rather than just little notes and ideas dotted everywhere. But this feels like I might be reaching something new.

More in stories, including some really ugly ones which are definitely not going anywhere yet! But they will...

Isn’t this why we make art? Why it’s essential to have in the world? This is one of my favourite comments from this week of the Best Art Year Ever event. When I read comments like this it makes it all worthwhile.
