Landscape Unlocked
We live within landscapes of our own construction; what we choose to notice, what we allow to remain and what we cover over.
This new abstract landscape series starts with a more expressive approach to painting, conveying the emotion we feel rather than representing a specific place. Using the recognised language of landscape such as horizon lines and boundaries, I’m also combining viewpoints of those we see in aerial views and mixing a sense of distance and close up views. This can bring a more intriguing sense of space and also allows a complex web of history and texture to build up within each painting.
