Beautiful light today and almost glassy smooth. Yesterday moors walk, today these calm lapping waves... tomorrow - adrenaline high ropes course. My goodness it feels wonderful to be out.

On a minor win I found a stack of white trays for 50p in second hand shop selling off catering supplies. Any of you who use stay-wet palettes will appreciate why that was a little squeal of excitement 🤣

How does your personality affect the way you make art?

I think we kind of missed the point in this one... What I was trying to get at was where does your personality type show up in how you make art or what decisions you make around process. For example are you methodical, do you like to plan? Be spontaneous? And how does that serve you - or not.

The conversation drifted into others responding to your personality in the finished work, and that may be part of it too.

I did this drawing a while ago, on a course with Emily Ball. It’s just been in my shelves but has come out again because it has the right feel for this new work. Not every sketchbook page is in a sketchbook!

Maybe when working larger it helps you if the reference is larger too?
PS. When I say “reference” I mean that very loosely! Having fun with colours... more later on that!
